What Is Legal Divorce?
A divorce is a method of terminating a marriage contract between two individuals. From a legal standpoint, your divorce will resolve three issues: * The divorce of two people giving each person the legal right to marry someone else. * The division of their property ( or responsibility for debts ) * Care and custody of their children Although these issues are very important, the law on these points is not very complicated and relatively uniform among the different states. Unfortunately, the American legal system can add to rather than decrease the antagonism of divorce by putting a couple at war with each other with each side trying to "win" the divorce. Luckily, all the states now have "no-fault" divorce laws which can significantly simplify the divorce process.
